Three brave birthday boys.

Earlier this month, three very special boys celebrated their birthdays. Our home transformed into a party place for them for nearly an entire week: a week filled with cakes, endless balloons, music, joy and celebrations.

Charles turned five years old. We have had the privilege of celebrating all five of Charles’ birthdays with him and each year we reflect on his incredible achievements and how far he has come since his last one. We hope his next birthday will be celebrated with his forever family by his side. If you are a family, interested in adopting Charles, please reach out to us at katie@butterflyhospice.org.

Jesse celebrated his 10th birthday earlier this month. Jesse continues to have good days and bad days. Luckily on his birthday, he was in great form and appeared to really enjoy his special day. The nurses monitor him closely every day to ensure his symptoms are well managed. We do not know what the future holds for Jesse, but we will continue to make each day special for him.

YY celebrated his first birthday with us and turned 9 years old. Each day we get to see his cheeky personality emerge and he is turning into such a little character. His favourite part of the birthday celebrations was the cake – he enjoyed two big slices himself. Although YY still has a long road of recovery ahead, we are honoured to be able to care for him and cannot wait to see what his future holds.

If you would to donate to our ‘birthday party’ fund to cover the cost of cakes, decorations and gifts, please contact info@butterflyhospice.org to find out more.
