As 2017 draws to a close, it’s time for us to extend our warmest Christmas greetings to all of our supporters, donors and everyone who checks in now and then.
Sharing stories on this blog helps us to show that even when lives are short, they can be filled with many happy moments and so much to celebrate, treasure and remember. It’s our ambition to give the gift of a full and cherished life to all children facing the challenges that our Butterfly Kids face, to hold their hands and be right by their side every step of the way.
We will continue to advocate for these young lives, with your help and support. We will continue to love and treasure every member of our Butterfly Family. But right alongside this, we are equally passionate about supporting families with very sick children. Families who want to keep their children close while they face trauma, but have little or no support. Families who abandon their children out of sheer desperation – yep, that happens. Again and again.
This Christmas we can rejoice with the children closest to us, and welcome the changes that are happening more widely because we (and you) care and persist. The kind of change that makes it possible for each child to have their life story celebrated, treasured and remembered. Just as it should be. Let’s keep doing more.
