Life has been all sorts of crazy in the Butterfly Home these last few months. Today, we want to rewind to earlier this Spring when we said goodbye to two of our long term nurses, Chriselle and Chloe who moved home to the Philippines.
Chriselle and Chloe were a big part of our Butterfly family for over three years and we were sad to see them leave. They were a valuable part of our team and played an important role in training our new Chinese nurses.
Chriselle and Chloe always went above and beyond, giving 100% to each and every Butterfly. They did not view their work as ‘just a job’, but spent numerous hours when their shifts were finished checking the children were comfortable and never leaving without putting a smile on a few faces!
The children (and ayis!) adored their kind hearts, gentle nature and caring personalities. Their love, hard work and dedication towards the Butterflies was admirable and they are greatly missed around the home.
Thank you…
Katie worked alongside Chriselle and Chloe throughout their time in the Butterfly Home and writes: “I have never met such kind hearted and caring people. Working along side Chriselle, Chloe (and Jea – who finished up at the end of 2018) was a magical experience. There were many tears shed together as we said goodbye to precious Butterflies, but also hours of laughter and countless happy memories from our time spent together. Each day was unpredictable, but together we were able to face whatever challenges arose. Being so far away from home is not easy, but you always managed to see the positives in any situation. Everything revolved around the children – Christmas time, birthdays, celebrations; the children were always what was important for you both.
I am personally grateful for all those nights you never complained when a 5pm finish would turn into a long night in work, for the compassion shown towards the babies you held as they took their last breath, the endless cancelled plans to visit babies in hospital or the last minute ‘crisis’ calls to bring babies to other cities for medical interventions. Nothing was too much to ask of you and it was a pleasure to work with you all. Working with such an incredible team of nurses made life in the Butterfly Home a lot easier and extremely enjoyable. Your passion and enthusiasm for life is infectious – never lose it! You should be so proud of your growth and achievements during your time with BCH. I really appreciate all that you gave to the children and the staff, particularly me, during your time with Butterfly. ”
From the bottom of our hearts, Chriselle and Chloe, thank you from everyone at Butterfly for all you have done. We wish you the best of luck in the future and hope you will come back and visit us soon!
